Songwriters in the Round may be just what live music aficionados need tonight. Alaskan songwriters sit together on stage at Everett’s. They take turns playing original music. Tonight’s performers are Matt Faubion, Skye Morriseau, Leo Pritchett, and Baker. The Palmer Arts Council brings Emma Hill back to Palmer tomorrow night. It has been too long since Hill has performed in her hometown. She is performing at Vagabond Blues, one of Palmer’s iconic venues. She takes the stage at 7 p.m. Tickets and more information are at Palmerarts.org. Welcome home, Emma.
Artist Ruth Hulbert talks about the historical significance behind her 90th anniversary poster design for the Alaska State Fair tomorrow at 6 p.m. at the Palmer Museum. Also hear from artist and vice president of the Valley Quilters’ Guild, Daniel Hughes. He explores the technology behind the living archive quilt. Space is limited and registration is required. The Palmer Alehouse welcomes Blackwater Railroad tomorrow night and The Roland Roberts Band on Saturday night. These free, all ages, outdoors, rain or shine shows start at 7 p.m. Attendees under 21 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
A dinner theater production of “Arsenic and Old Lace” plays at Evangelo’s Restaurant on Friday and Saturday this weekend and next. The performance is an “in-the-round” interactive experience. It’s harvest season in the Greater Palmer Metroplex. Come to the Fall Harvest Festival at Pyrah’s Pioneer Peak Farm for loads of fun from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday. Activities include a pumpkin patch, a zip line, games and contests, food trucks, and much more. If you can’t make it this Saturday, the festival runs on the next two Saturdays as well. And if kombucha is missing from your life, there’s hope. The annual Kombucha Palooza is Saturday at 203 Kombucha. There will be 14 small batch flavors to try while supplies last!
