Mike Chmielewski talks with Nelson Crone, who gives the monthly update on the UAF Farm and Extension Service along with his sage advice. The farm has 260 acres of cultivated land and 800 acres of forestland for research or demonstration purposes, including barns, feed storage facilities and pastureland.
April is a waiting period for the fields to thaw and dry up, allowing tractors to work in the field. This year, they will be growing barley and wheat.
