The Friday night fun continues with the opening of an exhibit by Honduran artist Alexa Maithe at the Art Cafe. Her work maintains a dialogue between cultures and landscapes. Sunday is Easter. Happy Easter to those who celebrate it. However you celebrate the season, it’s a time to appreciate new beginnings, and the simple joy of renewal in the world around us.

Have a great day and a fantastic weekend.

A reminder: Burn Permits are required in Alaska from April 1 to August 31. Get your permit online at dnr.alaska.gov/burn.

And one more reminder: The Palmer police never text to ask for payment of fines. If you get a text message claiming you have unpaid tickets, fines, or missed court dates and that you pay right away, it’s a scam. Don’t click any links. Don’t give out your info or send money. If something feels off, it probably is. Take a minute and call your local law enforcement.

Page 2 airs weekdays at 7 a.m., 9 a.m., 11:50 a.m., and 6 p.m.
