Xyanthe Neider, Ph.D. – Bio
Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Xyanthe Neider, Ph.D., is the single parent of two children, a 22 year old son and a 14 year old daughter. She is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor at Washington State University in Pullman, WA. A first generation college student, Xyanthe holds an Associates of Arts Degree from Skagit Valley Community College, a dual Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and Sociology, a Master’s of Arts Degree in Higher Education Administration and a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration with a secondary concentration in Cultural Studies and Social Thought in Education from Washington State University.
Xyan, as she prefers to be called, teaches Higher Education, Research Methods, and Education Foundations/History courses for the Department of Educational Leadership, Sport Studies, and Educational/Counseling Psychology in the College of Education at Washington State University. Her current research interests include ethics in social science research, college teaching and learning, and connections between campus environment and student experience. She works to interrogate the master narratives and taken for granted assumptions about marginalized groups.
Professional accomplishments include publication of book chapters and excerpts, journal articles, and university and national recognition.
